I was on my phone in the parking lot of APWHC trying to arrange payment for my procedure. I was having a difficult time because my boyfriend wouldn’t pick up his phone and I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to keep my appointment. Then the protesters started to yell at me. I couldn’t take it. I started to cry. Members of ProChoice Charlotte saw what was happening and told me that everything was going to be okay. They told me that I didn’t have to listen to the yelling and that I knew my own situation best and could make my own decisions. I told them that I knew that I could not have a baby right now. I just got a job and turned my life around. The ladies from ProChoice Charlotte sat with me and listened. They offered support and advice. I’m really grateful that they were there that day.
